An absolutely stunning rendition of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” by a flashmob that was comprised of musicians from the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the Lieder, Amics de l’Òpera and Coral Belles Arts choirs. They did this to mark the 130th anniversary of the founding of Banco Sabadell (I think few banks would be so lucky…) and pay tribute to their city.

I generally have limited patience with video art but this piece, “Jewel” by Hassan Khan is by far the best I have ever experienced. That is probably why I liked it so much - you don’t simply watch it. It made me want to dance, it made me laugh, I didn’t want it to end. It’s hypnotic and brilliant.
Şirin showed it to me. It is currently being exhibited as part of a larger show by Hassan Khan at SALT on İstiklal in Istanbul.

I can’t stop dancing to this around my bedroom. It’s written and produced by Blood Orange and Ariel Rechtshaid. It’s perfect.

I just ended my first day being 26 messily dancing to this great, great song that Şirin sent me. In my bedroom - one of the best places to dance. I’ve had too much wine, I really need to be horizontal soon. I had many lovely loving messages all day. I started last night drinking scotch in the park and running around like a kid, climbing the monkey bars. Appropriate, since the scotch is called “Monkey Shoulder”.
